The Dinner Pt. 2

"Imagine that. He invited me to dinner!"

"Really? Did he say what restaurant?"

All women know how this conversation will play out. First, the smallest details of the invitation will be discussed and then it will be the events that preceded the invitation. If you’re a man and you aren’t familiar with such conversations, well, maybe it’s because you don’t need to be.

The young woman sharing the news was Megan. The young woman listening attentively was Molly.

These kinds of conversations are completely different from things like business negotiations where both parties try to stick to the same topic. Not only did these two friends want to talk about everything, they wanted to do so all at once.

"Is he the guy you told me about?"

"Yeah. Martin."

"Megan and Martin. I like it. What are you going to wear?"

"I don't know yet. Listen, I just saw the most beautiful purse!"

Some time was spent discussing the purse.

"And did you hear about the Prescotts?"

You probably don’t know who the Presscotts are, but it’s not important. Some time was spent discussing them.

"Do you think he’s thinking about getting serious?"

The “He” refers to Martin.

“I don’t know. He’s cute and caring and all, but sometimes he’ll disappear for a few days and not even send me a text.”

"Yeah, they do that."

The "They" refers to "all men."

"Well, does he love you?"

"If he does, he hasn’t told me."

“Yeah, it’s difficult for them."

The “Them” refers to the “They.”

After a while, the friends returned to the start of the conversation. But of course they didn’t focus on the dinner itself, but rather on what Megan would wear.

They discussed every little thing. It was agreed that the three days left before the dinner would be enough for a haircut and a manicure. Molly said she’d lend Megan her good shoes, the same ones Megan had noticed a long time ago, but had never had a good enough reason to borrow. Then rings, earrings, and bracelets were discussed. They had everything they needed. Everything except the most important thing: the dress.

"You can borrow one of mine," suggested Molly.

“No, it’s a dinner. They won’t work,” Megan said, firmly, since she knew Molly’s wardrobe by heart.

"What about the new red one? With the bare shoulders? Do you remember it?"

"No, I don't."

"Well, come over and take a look," Molly said.

"But what if, sometime in the future, you, me, and Martin are at a café or something and you forget that you lent me that dress and so you wear it? He’ll recognize it and then he’ll realize that I went on a date in somebody else's dress. Like Cinderella!"

"Yeah, it’s a problem. I guess you have to buy a new dress," Molly said.

"But the dinner is in three days. Where am I going to get the money in time?"

"Well, that’s not a problem," Molly said. "Get your butt over here and I'll show you what to do.

Megan got her butt over to Molly’s apartment and Molly showed her what to do. Then Megan went to https://ezrapidloan.com/ completed the application form, and got the money. The friends went shopping and Megan bought a beautiful new dress and lots of other things.

On Saturday morning, Molly gave Megan a call.

"Hi," Megan answered, in a whisper.

"It’s Molly. How was ‘The Dinner?’"

Then Molly heard a cell phone ring on the other end of the line and a sleepy male voice say, “Hello?"

"I'll call you back later," Molly said and hung up.

She smiled. The dinner had been a success.

The Dinner Pt. 1

Who knows how many life-altering conversations have taken place in the break room? At meetings, people talk only about work, but in the break room, they talk about life.

Andy was the first person that day to visit the break room. What Andy wanted was to warm up a little, have a cup of coffee, and maybe eat a cookie if Janet hadn’t already eaten them all. But soon after he entered the room, Martin showed up. And he wasn’t there for coffee; he was there for Andy.

Martin and Andy worked in different departments, but their paths often crossed in the cramped corridors and they had a warm, collegial friendship. Andy was a couple of years older than Martin and slightly higher than Martin on the hierarchical ladder, but that wasn’t the reason that Martin looked up to him and listened when he talked. It was because Andy was married, and Martin hadn’t yet achieved that milestone.

"Hello there!" Martin said to Andy's back.

"Hi," Andy said, turning around. "Are you cookie-hunting too?"

"No, not really...I mean, what I’m hunting isn’t a cookie..." Martin hesitated, not knowing how to start this conversation. Then he suddenly switched gears and said, emphatically, "Actually, I was looking for you."

"Oh yeah?" Andy was surprised. "I thought they made everything clear at the meeting."

"Oh, I'm not talking about work. I have a personal question."

"I’m feeling great. My love life is better than great. What other personal questions could you be too embarrassed to ask?"

"Well, there’s this girl..."

“My bad. I can tell this is a serious matter,” Andy sat down at the table and waved toward the other chair. "Tell me what the problem is, my young apprentice."

"There’s this girl...we’ve been dating for several months, and I want to take it to the next level. Do you get what I’m saying? I want to show her that I’m serious about our relationship.”

"Well, go on. What’s the problem?"

"I don’t know how to go about it."

"Invite her to a nice restaurant. Then, near the end, after a couple of glasses of wine, tell her how you feel."

"But I don't know what to say," Martin said and threw up his hands. "You’re good with words."

“You're focusing on the wrong thing,” Andy said, stood up decisively, and looked at his watch. "Come on, it's lunch. We’ve got time."

"Time for what?"

"For shopping."

"Shopping for what?"

"For the usual. We’ll get you a suit, a shirt…definitely a tie."

"Why? I’ve already got those things!" Martin was close to panicking.

"Look, you invite this girl to a restaurant." Andy sat down again at the table and looked into Martin's eyes to be more convincing. "And what’s she going to do? She’s going to get a new haircut, put on her best make-up, wear her best dress, her best shoes, her best jewelry, et cetera. And she’s going to mentally prepare for a few days. And then, when she gets there, what’s she going to see? You in a hoodie and jeans."

"But I have a suit," Martin protested.

"It’s not a date-at-a-restaurant suit. It’s an office suit. Don’t you want to make your girlfriend happy?"

"Of course."

"Then get dressed. Show her what feats you’re ready to accomplish for her."

The word "feats" struck Martin on the spot.

"I would do anything, any feats, for her," he said, and then he stood up and followed Andy.

Two men on mission can go shopping pretty quickly and these two were no different. Martin trusted Andy completely. The only resistance he put up was the suggestion he buy pants and socks, a suggestion he deemed unnecessary.

"Well, a start has been made," said Andy contentedly as they returned to the office. "Now we need to book a table at the restaurant."

“I don’t know any good restaurants,” Martin said.

Andy told him which restaurant it would be and it was one that Martin knew.

"But that’s an expensive place!" Martin exclaimed, dropping the bag of clothes to the floor.

"Martin,” Andy said, “There are restaurants and then there are RESTAURANTS.”

Andy scrolled on his phone, looking up the phone number for the restaurant, "Is Friday good?"

"I don't know. I haven’t asked her."

"Then call and ask. No, wait," Andy stopped himself. “You don’t need to ask. Just say: ‘Let’s have dinner on Friday. I’ll pick you up at your work.' Have you got that all down?”

"Yeah."

"Do it!”

"Wait!"

A storm seemed to be raging in his mind and he struggled with his remaining doubts. "So this means I’m going to have to pay for dinner?"

"That’s usually how it works."

"But I just spent all my money on these clothes you said I needed. And payday is next week."

“No problem,” Andy said and he showed Martin what to do.

Martin went to https://ezrapidloan.com/ completed the application form, and got the money.

On Saturday morning, Andy ran on the treadmill for a half an hour, poured himself a protein shake, and then called Martin. The phone rang several times and then he heard Martin’s sleepy voice: "Hello?"

"Hey, it’s Andy. So how did everything go? Good, bad, horrible?"

"Uh, right now’s not a good time…I’ll call you back,” Martin started to say.

"I see," Andy said. "Another happy landing.”

• speed of receiving money

• speed of processing the application

• maximum loan amount

• loan term

Social Criteria

This is about trust and comfort. The characteristics under scrutiny here are:

• availability and customer service at the contact center

• country/state/city the company is located in

• possibility of calling a courier

• real user reviews

Don’t you want all your questions answered? Don’t you want the process to be easy?

Technical Criteria

Security and convenience are important. Especially if you worry about the site giving you an error when you’re filling out an application, uploading documents, or receiving money. So what criteria do you need here?

• accessibility and speed of access to the site
